Mazovian StartUPolis launch

On 10 May 2024, the inaugural conference of the Mazovian StartUPolis took place in Radom. It’s organised by the Institute of Exploitation Technology – Łukasiewicz Research Network special Startup Platform – Central Innovation Accelerator.

The assumptions of the project were presented by Dr. Marzena Walasik and Dr. Andrzej Stępnikowski from Łukasiewicz-ITEE, the StartSmart CEE CEO Magdalena Jabłońska and Michał Bonin from the Warsaw University of Technology presented the incubation process in the Platform.

Mazovian StartUPolis is aimed at entrepreneurial individuals seeking a replicable, scalable and profitable business model and anyone with innovative business ideas.

The initiative aims to create favourable conditions for the development of companies in key sectors of the region, such as:

  • machinery and equipment manufacturing
  • energy
  • ecology
  • food and agri-food industry

Mazovian StartUPolis includes a six-cycle incubation programme for startups, offering them:

  • individual support from experienced incubation managers
  • legal assistance and accounting advice
  • training and workshops in the field of business development
  • access to infrastructure (offices, laboratories)
  • possibility to establish contacts with other start-ups, investors and experts
  • the chance to raise funding

The programme offers:

  • 6 incubation rounds
  • Support for 180 start-ups (30 per round)
  • 6-month incubation
  • DemoDay at the end of each round – opportunity to present the results of the incubation results to representatives of the Platform and investment funds
  • Up to 70% of startups will receive a positive report entitling them to apply for funding under Component IIa – Support for the development of startup’s business
  • Startup’s business development.

The project partners were represented by:
Sławomir Bukowski (Rector of Radom University)
Mariusz Wielec (Director CEZAMAT Warsaw University of Technology)
Magdalena Jabłońska (CEO of StartSmart CEE).

The second part of the conference featured a presentation of ‘Success Stories’, i.e. market successes of start-ups, such as:
Magly Sp. z o.o.
CODEJET sp. z o.o.
Binderless.

The closing presentation included activities related to project recruitment and the synergy of the undertakings carried out by:
dr Ewa Ferensztajn-Galardos, K. Pulaski University of Radom
and
dr Andrzej Stępnikowski, Łukasiewicz ITEE.
